Tux Rental Returns: The return of all tux rentals are due right after the Schnitzer concert on June 8. Please bring a change of clothes. There will be a $10.00 late fee for any tux not collected on that date. For others who have not turned in their Tux, you also have until June 8.

A number of very talented young musicians have banded together is a very short time in an effort to support the victims of the recent China earthquake disaster. The concert organizers will be prepared to take your tax deductible donations targeted specifically for China Quake Relief with 100% of your donations going to your choice of one of the 3 groups listed below:

Sousa Conductor: Andy Hordichok who has conducted Sousa band for over 4 years will be resigning at the end of this season. This is a huge loss for MYS but we do understand how difficult it is commuting from Lincoln City every week. We will all miss you, Andy. Don’t be a stranger.

Help: Carol Neff needs help. She wants to play in the Majors & Minors MYS Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 12 but she doesn’t have anyone to play on her team. Cellos: It is imperative that you use a rock stop at all rehearsals and performances. If you do not own one, you may purchase one from MYS for $12.00 or rent one for the day for $2.00. These are available due to the generosity of Mr. Robert Woodward.

New Student Fundraiser: Flower power. Get ready for our new Spring fundraiser which will start next Saturday. Please stop by the foyer to pick up an order form and collection envelope. Fifty percent profit goes into the students account. Orders must be turned in by April 5th.

Tour Destination: The Yucatan Peninsula and Mexico City will be our destination in July, 2009. Interested families and musicians from SO, SB, CO and CB as of Sept. 2008 are eligible. We plan to have a tour presentation on Saturday, April 5, 11:15-noon in the new gym.

MYS Silent Auction Sneak Peak Catalog available again this Saturday! We've put together a preview of several choice auction items to whet your whistle and your wallet for the upcoming MYS Silent Auction, Saturday, March 15, at Beaumont.

Tour Destination: The Yucatan Peninsula and Mexico City will be our destination in July, 2009. Price to be determined shortly as we continue to negotiate with travel companies. Given the current options for international travel and taking into consideration the current position of the dollar and other cost factors, this trip affords us the professional concert venues and access to historical and cultural sights that will both engage and enrich our student travelers at a more affordable price than Europe. The areas we will be visiting are rich in both Mayan and Latin American history and culture and also include unique natural features. The potential concert venues run the gamut from historical ancient buildings to state of the art modern halls. There will be a tour meeting, at Beaumont, Saturday, April 5, 11:15 am in the new gym. Interested families and musicians from SO, SB, CO and CB as of Sept. 2008 are eligible.

  • Schnitzer Tickets: Time is running out. It costs more money to purchase at the PCPA box office and ticket master.
  • Viennese Ball: Saturday, April 12. We sell out every year. Not many tickets left. When they're gone, they're gone. Don't miss out.
  • Lakeridge Concert: Avoid long lines on concert day. Purchase your tickets early.
